I used Martha’s pie crust recipe. One of the best things about pie baking is the extra crust dough that I roll out and sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar. I only made a single/bottom crust for this so there wasn’t much extra dough for the crisps but everyone will get a small taste. I was inspired by Posie Gets Cozy to make this Sour Cream Apple Pie. I love to bake and I like to make apple pie but wanted to try something different. I’ll let you know how we like it after we dive into it tonight. My photographs aren’t nearly as good as Alicia Paulson’s but I try. I...

We didn’t do too much decorating for Halloween this year. We got out the witch doll that Ralph got for Bella years ago. Sofia and Dante made some decorations that we hung in the living room. Sofia made the ghost, the pumpkin bat and the spider and Dante made the Zombie head. They were great! Ralph suggested they make a haunted house together. He helped Sofia by carving out a box and painting it and let her decorate it. It turned out pretty cool. They were working on the graveyard/pumpkin patch on the side but didn’t quite finish it. We have some great ideas to make it even better...

Milton Bradley Old Mother Hubbard Puzzle Box
I listed these vintage puzzles on Ebay. The first one is a wooden jigsaw puzzle of a pre-raphaelite couple. It is a challenging puzzle to put together. It has figure pieces which are different shaped pieces such as a star, heart, shoe, dog, head, bird, key, to name a few. The other is a Milton Bradley Old Mother Hubbard Puzzle Box of three vintage jigsaw puzzles. The last one is not for sale. It is a round Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs puzzle that came in a can. I loved to do puzzles as a child so I always got puzzles for my birthday or Christmas. I had...

It all started with a post I found on My Paper Crane. Heidi Kenney is an awesome artist and I love reading her blog about her family and all the plush creations she makes. Anyway, Heidi had made this fabric bowl and got the directions from here. It looked like fun and I wanted to try it. It took me awhile to go buy the clothes line for it because I’m a procrastinator that way. Surprisingly, I was able to find it at Walmart and it was really cheap too. I decided I would just use scraps of fabric that I had and I’ve come to realize that I don’t have many good fabrics but I made due...

Dante’s last game was on Thursday in Baldwin, Kansas. Baldwin is about 45 min away from us. One thing that I can’t get used to living in Kansas, is that everything is a highway drive or at least 20 min away. I was so spoiled living in North Olmsted with all the shopping and activities in close driving distance. Anyway, I knew this was going to be a far game and I map quested it out ahead of time and calculated what time we needed to leave to get there at 7:30 since the game was starting at 8:00 to allow time before hand to practice. It took two highways and a bunch of turns on different...

So I have been quite the slacker as far as posting goes. The kids got out of school on May 22nd and June has already flown by. What have we been up to? Sofia turned 8 years old. She got her ears pierced for her birthday and Dante had a baseball game so she and I went to that and picked out a little cake at the grocery store on the way home. We have been going to the pool alot. We are all sporting a tan despite the diligent use of sunscreen. We have been really busy with Dante’s baseball. This was his first time on a team and it was really fun! What a great experience for all of us! He...
