Friday was Dante’s 10th birthday and Black Friday. Fortunately, I did not have to go out and face the crowds and chaos. I have gone in past years and have been a little frightened by the crowds and the people’s attitude. I’ve never had that much money to work with, so I usually am going for one or two specific deals but never was too crazy about getting the items. If I got them then it was a little victory, but if I didn’t, then it wasn’t meant to be. It was really sad to read about the Walmart employee in NY that got trampled to death. It sickens...

Today we watched the Macy’s parade while I cooked the turkey. This is one of our traditions. I used to watch the parade while my mother cooked. I made turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry relish, green beans, rolls, Waldorf salad, and pumpkin pie. Most of the recipes were from Martha Stewart Her menu planners are a huge help for keeping me organized and on time. Everything was good but I, unfortunately, didn’t take any pictures. My uncle came to visit from Nebraska and is spending the night. We ate at two and everyone was stuffed. Tomorrow is Dante’s birthday...

Ever since I ordered Creme Brulee at the restaurant when we were visiting Lincoln Nebraska over the summer, the kids have all been talking about creme brulee and how they want to try it again. Ralph decided that we should just make it ourselves. I was a little hesitant because I knew you had to use a torch to heat the top of it and we didn’t have one.
